I was looking through some rocks and found this enclosed in the rocks.

[If there is one, there is probably more! Certainly a trilobite fossil, possibly Phacops. Can any trilobite collectors make a definite ID on this one? Please leave a response.]
Found in a box of sea shells at a yard sale.
I found 16 of these in various sizes at a yard sale mixed into a collection of sea shells so I’m assuming they were originally found on a beach.

[Editors note: Well, we had not thought of going fossil collecting at a yard sale, but you seem to have found some goodies. These are fossil belemnites, the internal shells of fossil squid that lived during the Cretaceous Period. They were likely found weathering out of a stream bank or eroded beach cliff. Nice find—keep shopping!]
- A beautiful large and intact Ecphora found last weekend along the James River in Southeastern VA. This was just one of many cool finds that we collected with the Mid-Atlantic Fossil and Nature Adventures group.
